The digestive ability of feeding kibble done the right way is the same or even BETTER then feeding raw food!
Have you ever heard of Beef jerky, I am sure you have? Well 100 grams of beef jerky comes from 240 grams of raw undried beef. It’s the same with dried salted fish: http://www.saltfish.com/preparation.html .This means when you SOAK the meat or fish again, it takes on the natural water to meat ratio and volume it once was. If you then take your dried veggies and rice or cereal and blend them up to a pulp when dry, and press them together with the meat or the fish into a pallet, all the same quality contents, nutrients from the fresh vegetables meat-fish are in that pallet without losing quality. It counts the same as your raw ingredients you use to feed your dog. Nothing has changed, only the water has been taken out! It looks different and unrecognizable because its grinded to tiny little grains as big as sand.
Now soak these pallets, and all these ingredients used get their natural water to meat/veggies ratio and volume back. If you don`t do that, then the dog will need to take water from his NATURAL fluid house hold in order to try to digest the kibble. However this is far LESS efficient, with as result that a part of the dry food comes out poorly undigested. A dogs SYSTEM is triggered to uphold there water/fluid level and they start to drink allot due to this problem.
(Allot of dogs do not have access to water 24/7. Which will make the dog dehydrated even more and get looser runny stool when fed un-soaked dry food. This is a HUMAN ERROR when this happens. This is not because the dry food is bad, but in these cases where human errors is present then feeding raw on the chain or kennel gives the dog more/better internal water house hold)
This is also the same reason why dogs fed of raw meat and dry kibble at the same time get diarrea,
because the kibble needs more water to digest at the same speed and rate (quicker denser and better when soaked), as RAW meat does.
Now if you would SOAK the dry Food first and add meat then digestive ability will be PERFECT. In fact the quality dog food/kibble is actually (most of the time) PREDIGESTED as everything has been grinded down to grains as big as sand prior to be made into a pallet. Meaning the STOMACH ACID has more effort and trouble to break down the large chunks of meat bones and veggies! Which are given when feeding raw. Which separately need different times to digest! Now if you put all your raw meat and bone and veggies and stick them in a meat grinder and grind it to pulp, and feed that to your dog. You will see an even better digestive ability of all the ingredients.
If we go one step further, and have that pulp dried out first, from where all the water contents is taken out, and make 200 pallets out of ‘that’ quality dried mixture that you just made (did we just made dry food/kibble?) and later soak it in 70/80% of the same volume of water, then it will get the “same” volume and water ratio as it was PRIOR to being dried out. The quality of the ingredients used, that you just dried out is still the same, and then the digestive ability improves. And that my friend is how the cookie crumbles. Nothing more or less. Again it all depends if YOU, the owner is able to feed the right way and select the best dry food/kibble for your animals. On top of that it depends if YOU, the owner buys the correct dry food/kibble and find out the right weight of kibble to be soaked to feed your dog.
Dog food/kibble is often to be blamed for the bad results in feeding dogs. Yet it’s never the owner’s fault of buying and giving the wrong selected dry food that has been fed to the dogs.
